Friends of Franz Podcast S2 E9: The Absolute Tooth About Veneers with Dr. Joyce Kahng (Joyce the Dentist)
According to the American Psychological Association, smiling - even if forced - can help boost one's mood. But what if you cannot seem to smile in public? The CDC states one-quarter of adults over 65 have severe tooth loss. Missing, misaligned, and discolored teeth can truly impact one's ability to freely smile and have self-confidence. We see the public's endeavor to combat these through the rise of utilizing the dental technologies of teeth whitening, porcelain veneers, braces, implants, and Invisalign®. But many myths online surround the world of dental health and oral hygiene. Are yellow teeth normal? Do whitening strips work? Is there irreversible teeth misalignment? Are veneers worth it, and do they require shaving down teeth? Should I opt for braces or clear aligners?
We are joined today by Dr. Joyce Kahng, a cosmetic dentist and founder of Orange + Magnolia Dental Studio in Costa Mesa, CA. Dr. Kahng is also a former assistant clinical professor at the Department of Restorative Dentistry at USC Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry for five years, where she was awarded 2018’s Outstanding Faculty.
